Looking for 100x coins?
Learn to spot the zeros first.
A token priced at a fraction of a cent with a tiny market cap looks like it could easily 100x. On-chain data says most never survive the week. Before chasing 100x, learn to avoid honeypots and rug pulls.
What is a 'shitcoin', and what is degen trading?
These are tokens launched on-chain minutes ago, with no known team and no real use, mostly memes. Degen trading means racing to buy them at launch and selling to the people who arrive later.
Launching a token now takes minutes and a few dollars on launchpads like Pump.fun. That means thousands of new tokens a day, and plenty built specifically to take newcomers' money.
Are 100x and 1000x coins real?
- On-chain research found only about 1% of Pump.fun tokens 'graduate' to a full trading pool;
- the same research found over 98% were abandoned or showed pump-and-dump or rug-pull traits;
- even memes that reach major exchanges often fall hard after listing.
The '100x coins' in chats and videos are survivors picked from millions of zeros, and the people shilling them usually bought much earlier.
| Exchange listing | On-chain launch | |
|---|---|---|
| Screening | Listing review and risk checks | None; anyone can launch |
| Can you sell | Normally yes | Honeypots block selling |
| Fake tokens | Rare; check the trading pair | Many copycat contracts |
| Volatility | High at launch | Tens of x in minutes |

What is a honeypot token, and how do you detect one?
A honeypot is a token you can buy but not sell. The contract only lets whitelisted addresses sell, or charges a 90%+ 'tax' on sales. The chart keeps rising because nobody can get out.
- Verified source code: unverified contracts are the biggest risk.
- Sell limits or high sell tax: some wallets and token scanners flag risky or high-tax tokens before you trade; if flagged, walk away.
- Concentrated holders: a few wallets holding most supply can dump at any time.
- Locked liquidity: unlocked pools can be pulled by the developer.
- Test-sell a tiny amount: if you can't sell a little, don't add more.
Watch for people posting '20x on this one' with buy screenshots but never a withdrawal. Showing buys and paper gains, never cash-outs, is the classic honeypot lure.
What does rug pull mean?
A rug pull is when the team suddenly removes the liquidity or dumps its whole supply after people buy, sending the price to zero. Warning signs:
- anonymous team, brand-new website and social accounts;
- marketing about 'the next 100x' and 'exchange listing soon' instead of what the project does;
- developer wallets holding large supply, unlocked liquidity;
- questions banned in the group, sceptics removed.
Limits for a small budget
- Only use a small part of your learning bucket and assume it goes to zero;
- prefer tokens already listed on an exchange over chat-group picks;
- never approve unknown contracts, connect your wallet to unknown sites or share your seed phrase;
- after a gain, take your stake out first;
- never use borrowed money or leverage on new tokens.

FAQ
01How do I find 100x crypto?
There is no reliable method. 100x tokens are extremely rare and most new tokens go to zero. Learning to avoid honeypots and rug pulls matters more.
02What is a shitcoin?
Slang for a freshly launched token with no known team or real use, usually a meme.
03What is a honeypot token?
A token you can buy but not sell, because the contract restricts sales or charges a huge sell tax.
04How do I check for a honeypot?
Check verified code, sell limits and tax, holder concentration and locked liquidity, and test-sell a tiny amount.
05What does rug pull mean?
The team pulls liquidity or dumps its tokens, and the price collapses to zero.
06Is a coin worth $0.001 cheap?
Price per coin says little. With hundreds of billions of tokens, reaching $1 would require a market cap bigger than most of the market.
